Rihanna Cyberbullies Teen Who Dressed As Her For Prom

A Baltimore teen, who dressed as Rihanna for her Hollywood themed prom, is now looking for a new idol since the musical icon made fun of the homemade outfit on Twitter.

16-year-old Alexis Carter knew that she wanted to wear something unique to her junior prom this year. So, when the school announced that the theme would be Hollywood, she decided to choose something contemporary.

Carter, who used to idolize Rihanna, designed her outfit to look like a suit that the singer wore to the Echo Awards in 2010.

Alexis’ homemade outfit, a jumpsuit with a plunging neckline and a wing-like cape, looked almost identical to Rihanna’s.

Happy with her finished product, Alexis turned heads at prom and claimed that the jumpsuit was a major hit.

“Everybody was saying, ‘Oh my god, I love it, it looks nice your body looks good it’s different,’” Alexis said.

But just the next day, a picture of the teen in her outfit began circulating the Internet, and #PromBat became a trending hashtag on Twitter.

People made fun of Alexis’ unique outfit and started juxtaposing her picture with images of bats and various other winged animals.

Carter says she still felt great about her decision, since she and all her friends loved the outfit, but the teen was floored when Rihanna joined in on the cyberbullying.

The singer first posted a picture of herself in the original jumpsuit in 2010 on Twitter next to the picture of Alexis. Under Rihanna’s side, she wrote “IG,” and then wrote the caption “REAL LIFE” on Alexis’ side.

The picture’s caption was just a sad face.

But Rihanna didn’t stop there. Later, she posted the same picture of Alexis alongside the bat-like logo of the Wu-Tang clan.

“I was very offended,” Alexis said of Rihanna’s tweets. “Why throw shade on it when you had on the exact same thing.  The poses was different but the outfit wasn’t.”

It’s been over five days since the cyberbullying began, and Alexis says she still can’t show her face without being tormented and made fun of.

However, the outspoken teen is not afraid to comment on her former idol’s behavior, claiming that Rihanna personally hurt her feelings.

She thought the singer would feel honored that one of her fans took so much time to plan an outfit that looks almost exactly like hers.

“She don’t love her fans like she says she does,” Alexis said.

However, it seems like Alexis still came out on top in the end. Since Rihanna posted her pictures, Alexis says she’s getting tons of new followers on Twitter.

Seems like someone is letting the fame get to her head.
That was your fan and a child at that. How dare you join in on the bullying.
